better way to spend a Saturday morning, eh? Hope you don’t mind if I take a few
moments to explain some RSD workings to you…
- · There’s a separate queue for eBay flippers and scalpers who will be given the treatment they deserve. Please form an orderly line at the Bus Station.
- · Many titles will be very limited and we may just have a single copy. There’s over 250 shops taking part so a run of 500 records won’t go far. Remember, we’ve worked our socks off to get you that one copy. Many shops won’t even have that. Please be understanding.
- · Say hello and make friends with the queue. Help each other out. Vinyl people are good people.
- · Can you do us a solid? Can you check in on our Facebook page please? Share the page? Tag a mate? Tweet a photo? Hashtag #RSD17 Thank you!
- · Yes, there will be tea and coffee and rumours of a bacon or egg butty are completely true.
- · All stock is sold on a first come first served basis. No more than 10 items per customer/household whilst there’s a queue. You can go to the back of the queue and start again if you wish. No queue? No limits!
- · Free Fred Perry tote bags whilst they last. We just ask for a donation to the official RSD charity which supports musicians on hard times. Thank you.
- · Yes, we really did get quite a few copies of The Smiths 7” because of the shop’s name. And probably the The The single too. Aces. No, we’re not changing our name to BowieBeatlesPearlJamPrinceCabbageCureElasticaGoldiePlacebos Plectrum.
- · We’re in a residential area so kindly keep the noise down. Most sensible people are still in the land of nod. Please make sure that you’ve not parked on a grass verge or blocked access to a drive. We know you know and every year you’ve been amazing. Thank you.
- · RSD is about getting people into independent record shops. Like you, here today. Remember, we do this everyday of the year. We stock 1,000’s of records and can pre-order new releases for you all year round. We genuinely believe that Peterborough would be a better place for having more small independently owned businesses. Support them.
- · Ralph is in the shop today helping us out. We’re not paying him anything but a commission if he sells the Sting LP that’s been here since we opened. Be excellent to Ralph.
- · We’re opening Sunday 11.00am until 2.00pm. Then I’m going to sleep for 24 hours.
