This COVID-19 isn’t stopping us spreading the joy of music and soundtracking your lives. We’re still buying, we’re trading and we’re selling. And we’re doing it safely. What have you got for us? Cash waiting!  

Update on COVID19 at Marrs Plectrum Records

COVID 19 Update – Contactless Local Deliveries and Collections now available.

These are strange days. Hope that you and yours are keeping safe. We’ve spent the last few weeks home schooling the Jnr Plectrums and alphabetising our record collection (A Certain Ratio to Zion Train for those interested). We need to take some small, measured steps, in line with Government advice to move forward.

To this end we’re offering the following services with immediate effect:

Selling: We’re offering a local, contactless pick-up and delivery service! Simply email or message us your order and let us know if you would like collection or delivery. We’ll invoice you for the order and make appropriate arrangements. Delivery will be a flat fee of £4 anywhere in Peterborough (at our discretion) with collection being free. For delivery, someone over 18 will need to be home or a safe place arranged to leave the parcel. Collections can be made from the shop at a prearranged time – these will be done at a safe distance.

Buying: We are still looking to buy collections but must innovate to do this safely. To this end collections will have to be left with us in order to give a valuation. We will box up your collection for 72 hours before it’s handled in line with Government guidelines. Please get in touch if you have a collection for sale.

Mail Order: We are making arrangements to return to selling online including our hugely popular Discogs shop. We will make an announcement shortly.

The shop will be closed for customer browsing for the foreseeable future. Every step that we take will be in line with Government advice and will prioritise both yours and our safety.

We’re all missing buying and selling records but our health is more important, as much as we miss you.

COVID 19...

Obviously both our shop and all online selling, including Discogs, have been closed for awhile now. It’s the only decision we could make. Whilst music is essential, buying new records isn’t. Even buying and selling online puts people at risk needlessly. Look after each other, keep your distance, clean your records and wash your hands. See you on the otherside. Andrew Weatherall - A rare and precious pioneer...

Where are all these good people going? There’s a tipping point where the music up there will beat the music down here. Have we passed it? Another pioneer who stood on shoulders and pushed us forward is gone. These people are rare and precious. RIP Andrew Weatherall.
